Who these terms are for

These terms apply to two parties: clinics subscribed to Sijil together with the people who work in them, and patients who use the clinic directory or book through it.

By using Sijil you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.

What Sijil is, and what it is not

Sijil is a tool for keeping records and organising the work of a clinic. It does not give medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation — not to a clinic and not to a patient.

A clinical decision is the doctor’s responsibility alone, and whatever is written in the software is the responsibility of whoever wrote it.

If you are a patient with urgent symptoms, go to a doctor or a hospital directly — do not wait for an appointment through an app.

Accounts and signing in

You are responsible for your account and for what is done through it. Do not share your sign-in: one account used by two people takes away the record’s ability to say who did what.

A clinic should create a separate account for each member of staff, and disable the account of anybody who leaves.

Subscription and payment

Subscriptions run monthly, quarterly or yearly, and a clinic normally begins with a trial.

There is no payment gateway inside Sijil. Payment is made outside the software and we record its arrival by hand. Pressing a button in the software is not a bank transfer.

Published prices may change, and a change does not apply to a period already paid for.

What happens when a subscription ends

After a subscription ends there is a grace period during which the software goes on working in full.

Once that passes, access closes. And because the records are yours, one action remains available to you: requesting a final archive of all your data as CSV files.

Your records are yours

What a clinic records belongs to that clinic. We store it and run the service with it, and use it for nothing else: we do not sell it, do not share it with advertisers, and do not train artificial-intelligence models on it.

Acceptable use

Sijil may not be used for any of the following:

• Uploading or publishing anything you do not have the right to publish.
• Attempting to reach another clinic’s or another patient’s data.
• Testing the security of the service or disrupting it without our written permission.
• Publishing misleading information on a clinic’s public page, or claiming a specialty or a qualification you do not hold.
• Using the service for anything unlawful.

A clinic’s public page

A public page is reviewed before it is published, and any edit a clinic makes returns it to review.

We may send one back for changes or suspend it if it breaches the above, and we will say why.

Suspension and investigation

We may suspend an account for a serious breach of these terms, or on a credible report that warrants checking.

A suspension is decided by a person rather than by an automatic system, is recorded with its reason and the name of whoever decided it, and can be appealed by writing to us.

Availability

We do what we can to keep the service available, and we offer no guaranteed uptime figure — because we have not run the service long enough to have measured one, and a number we have not measured is not a promise.

We may take the service down temporarily for maintenance, and we try to do so outside working hours where we can.

Limits of liability

Sijil is provided as it is. We are not responsible for a clinical decision that was taken, for data entered wrongly, or for a loss arising from use of the service in breach of these terms.

None of the above removes a right the law does not allow to be removed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Egyptian law, and the Egyptian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes to these terms

Any change is published on this page with a new effective date. For any question, write to [email protected].
